Sunday 7

So I started sitting down every Sunday and doing a list of 7 things that I wanted to over shadow my week. Some were tasks others were reminders of what we should be doing in our everyday lifes.
To read more about it see my first post here.
After while I have relized that while I like making the list and it helps very much to keep me focused. I needed it where I can see it all the time. So I made up this printable that I can print out and not only keep the list of what I want to see this week but also what I have accomplished last week.
Of course I am going to share it with you as well.
So here you go. I would love to here how many of you are doing this, and how it has changed your life.

Elf Sighting

That sneaky elf hid in the family pictures going down the hall way. We almost didnt find him. Does this mean he wants his picture on the wall since he is one of the family.

Till next time.

The Elf is back

I love the holidays, even more thanks to my sister-in-law I love it even more. Why because she got us the elf on the shelf. The first year Savannah wasn't to impressed she was just to young, last year she loved finding him. This year he "Elfy Phillip" is going to add in some new twists. This year he is going to get bored and get into mischief. So check in each day and see what he is up to.
Today he made his first appearance at the kitchen table. He gathered all the Turkeys that we had made and had a party. He also left the girls a note to get them started and let them know what to expect.

Lots of fun.

See you tomorrow.

Give Thanks Board for Thanksgiving

Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving I wanted to show you what I have been up to for this month. I am sorry I didn't get this posted till right before Thanksgiving. Although it will give you something to work on for next year. I first saw this idea on Pinterest, yes I am an addict. Anyway she used a actual board and I didn't want to go to that much trouble so I used scrap booking paper. That way it will be easier for us to take down and move with. Since we are military we move a lot.
This is what it looks like
And yes I know my candle holders are crooked. It the wall, you have to love government housing. I fix it and after a few fly overs from the FA 18's they become crooked again.
This was a easy project of course I used my Pazzles for most of the work. Like the envelope pouches and the lettering. I am going to include a link to the envelope file for the Pazzles at the end of this post.
So first I cut out the envelopes, I chose to use multiple patterns in the same color scheme as the lettering at the top.

After scoring and gluing I had the whole stack done. Did I mention I love my Pazzles. It makes life easy.

I randomly lay ed them out and glued them to the scrapbook paper I chose for the background.
Then I added the tittle at the top, numbered them and added a few embellishments to each envelope.

A tada...done well except for the inserts. Which I just cut out some from card stock. Edged them with different color ink and then added our thanks.

So I made each card so that for each day for a few years we will be able to add the things that each family member is thankful for that day. This way when we look back we can see how our children and us have matured in our thanksgiving. And quite honestly some of the answers from the girls are down right funny. On the first night Savannah said she was thankful for flying unicorns. She watched mommies She-ra movies earlier that day. Gosh I miss those cartoons.
Anyway have fun and I would love to see what uniqueness you add to this project or even just hear some of your ideas.
Click Here for the Pazzle files I used. Please use them for your own use, Thank you.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Preschool pics

The school is doing thier school pics this week, but since Savannah does not go to school full time I thought instead of paying them, me her mom who is a photographer can take her school picture right. Well we got it but it took a lot of prompting on my part to get her to do it. You would think since I have been snapping away at her since birth that she would be used to this but no she still has to warm up to the camera. Which is fine its fun and keeps me in practice for any client that might have a shy child as well.
Anyway so here it is, her school picture. Done on the back porch with our outside easel and some chalk.

Project 365

This has really been hard for me. Not that I don't take at least one pic a day but I don't find time to work on them and the vision that I had when I took them kind of fades so they get less important in the daily craziness that goes on in this house. But I did do these that I want to share with you. It is of the girls in my studio, wow it had been a long time since I had put them in there.
But we had fun then I played in photoshop for a while with a few new filters, and well you see. let me know what you think.
They are just to cute sometimes.

Its Sunday again, wow does time fly faster as the holidays get closer. Eek I think so.

Organizing your week printable

So I have been working on diffrent forms to help me stay on top of our very active lives. So I thought I might share those here with you. But if you have any suggestions please let me know. There is always room for improvement.
Just click on the picture and it will take you to 4 shared for the file.
I have more that I have been working on, so be patient and we will all be a lil more organized. Hopefully.

Thanksgiving Dinner

You just have to love this time of year. All the food and yummy treats. Ummm...
Some of the other things that I love about this hoilday is the family and traditions. Its great to see older generations in the kitchec together cooking dinner all the while letting little helpers cook along with them. Most of us have memories of being under moms "apron" while she was cooking. It might seem like just trying to keep them ocupied, well it is but its also a chance to pass on tradtions.
Every year my family makes oyster dressing. Which to most outsiders is just down right nasty but to us its just always there, and its good.
What is something your family does each year? Do you think of it as a tradition or is it just something that happens every year?
Happy Turkey Day.

Sunday 7

Its that time again. Where does the week go. Well last week I said I would
  1. Faith- Read my bible 20 mins every day and memorize my 10 key verses for Awana.
  2. Family- Make up my ideas for hubby into cards that we can use( Dont worry I will let you in on what I am doing soon) Also try to do dates with each of my girls again.
  3. Relationships-Call my family this week and touch base, maybe even put a thinking of you card in the mail, humm.
  4. Work- Keep working on banners and new holiday knits
  5. Health and Fitness- Start doing the stroller classes with Sara while Savannah is in school.
  6. Finances-Its the first so do the monthly budget, yea go Dave Ramsey
  7. Me Time- Get that pedicure and scrapbook each day.

I did most of them, not surprising the ones that didn't get done were the ones for me. 1-went great and I will keep it up, although I still dont have the 10 verses memorized yet. 2-I finished the cards and will post about that later in the week. 3-I am planning a family reunion in a few weeks and this was very easy to do since I needed to call them anyway. But I did not put a card in the mail. Humm maybe this week. 4- New blog banners done, What do you think. I am having a giveaway on my Loopy Ladies facebook page to determine the new banner,(PS if you haven't voted get over there and vote) So that will be done soon. 5-I went to one class and loved it, until I woke up the next morning, wow that hurt. But I am going back. 6-Check budget done 7- Yep this is where I left off, not only have I not got a pedicure but I have not scraped one single page yet. Yikes! I need me time.

Ok so this week.

  1. Faith -continue my nightly studies and memorization
  2. Family -Work on our thanksgiving board(yep that post comes later to)
  3. Relationships -get at least one card in the mail this week. maybe I can scrap one together and combine 2 things at one time, double humm...
  4. Work -Get those holiday items posted
  5. Health and Fitness -continue with the stroller work out class, and not eat as much Halloween Candy
  6. Finances -Its time to finalize the holiday budget, food, gifts, travel, all of it. Yea, let me tell you how excited I am about that.
  7. Me Time -Get some scrapbooking time in and I really need that pedi.

That's all for tonight I think. I will be posting a lot this week, hopefully.

Fall Forest Craft for kids.

As you had read before I have been working with my oldest to get her ready for school next year. One of my favorite places that I get things is the blog 1+1+1=1  she has great ideas and lots of experience. One of the crafts that we did from there was the Fall Forest. It was easy and she loves it.
We started with 2 paper towel rolls, empty of course. I let Gracie paint them brown then I cut a third off of one. So we could have 3 "trees".
Sorry I don't have a ton of photos of this project, I had a little one cutting a tooth that day and didn't want to be put down. But the project is pretty strait forward.
After she painted them I cut slits down the top and the bottom of each tube, one end I cut only about a half of an inch down. The other end I cut down about 2 inches. Then I spread them out and glued the end that was cut a half of inch up to a piece of construction paper. The other end I spread out like branches. I did this part because I used a hot glue gun. Little ones get impatient and want the glue to be hard soon, so we can get going, so I like using the glue gun.
Gracie then took some of my stamp pads and swirled them on the green to make brown spots, like there would be if it was fall and the grass was starting to turn. Then she glued leaves to the branches. Now I had just happened to be making felt flowers for their hair so I had lots of scraps for her to make into leaves. But you could use paper or even coffee filters, which would be really easy to color the different colors of fall.

Now when sissy wasn't looking Sara who had been watching this with great interest got down and glued a few of her own leaves to the trees. Shhh it will be our secret and sissy will never know. hee hee.

All in all it was a great project that used a lot of time and was very educational in explaining what happens during the fall, since we live in a place that really does not get a "fall" season. Here you just wake up one day and it goes from 100 to 40 and its winter. The forest looks great in fact its the center piece of our table for Thanksgiving.

Let me know if you have done this or something similar. We love new projects.
Happy Fall!!
